Private Residence II

This waterside residence is designed as a group of four individual buildings in order to allow the natural landscape of the site to run through the site, minimizing its presence on the land and allowing views to pass through the structures.

This arrangement also allows for a variety of guest accommodations, preserving privacy while allowing gathering in a number of locations including outdoor terraces and great rooms.

Combining traditional cape and modernist detailing, many finishes are left in a raw, unpainted state. A main feature of the house is the tower, once a base for the local water cistern, which incorporates a new glass observation deck overlooking some of the most spectacular land and waterscapes on the Cape.
