Ringed by four buildings housing the AeroAstro department at MIT lies the Wright Brothers Wind Tunnel–a 1930’s closed loop wind tunnel and support building. Our project replaces this venerated facility with a new 100′ x 60’, state-of-the-art research tunnel, and completely renovates and expands the original support building to power and control the tunnel. In addition, the project interconnects, and provides new HC access to the adjacent facilities, all within the dense fabric of the surrounding buildings.
